- TOURNAMENT SERIES
The South Dakota Olympic Development Program is run by the state association. DASC supports ODP and likes its players representing Dakota Alliance on a State, Regional, and National Level. See below for more information.
It's a program that identifies high level youth players, to represent their state, region and the US in soccer competitions. At the state association level, pools of players are identified in each eligible age group, and brought together as a team to develop their skill through training and competition. From the state pools and subsequent teams, players are identified for regional and national pools and teams.
What are the goals of ODP?
Who can participate and who is eligible?
Any soccer player born in 1998-2003 is eligible for consideration in ODP for 2013/2014.
How are players selected?
These tryouts are conducted by the South Dakota ODP staff coaches who are recognized for their ability to identify and train players with superior skills. Players can also try out at the invitation of the state Director of Coaching - players can be referred to a state head coach, or can be identified through scouting. Players are evaluated on the four components that make up a soccer player: technical ability, tactical awareness, fitness and athletic ability, and attitude.
What are the benefits of participating in ODP?
Information about specific schedules for each location will be posted on the SD ODP website at www.sdodp.com.
